The Starlight Cinema project has been anything but ordinary and the highlight has been to make it just that. Through every client consultation and design phase, the KDS team stayed true to their core values- considered design, exceptional craftsmanship and lasting value.

This has been a standout bespoke joinery project for the KDS team, showcasing custom design and build cabinetry, signature signage and timeless craftsmanship for Taupo’s much loved boutique cinema.

Bespoke signage by the clever design team at KDS Kitchens and Joinery

When designing the bulk head for the Starlight Cinema the KDS Design team wanted to achieve uniqueness and timelessness. Utilizing the woven panel gave the design texture and depth as well as a bespoke sophisticated finish. The antique brass color provides character and warmth whilst the rich golden tones compliment the natural oak veneer perfectly.

Custom Designed Seating

When designing the booth seating the design team wanted to create a space where people would come together it needed to feature the natural oak veneer of the surrounding space. The small beading detail adds a subtle frame finish whilst the capping provides the custom built-in look. This design and aesthetic is a winning combination.

Old- world theatre -reimagined
